Reporting line: Export Channel Manager

Location: Cape Town, Western Cape

Role Overview:

To contribute to the sustainable international development of the company through the marketing of goods and
services in markets outside the borders of South Africa. Responsible for sales growth by implementing and
managing the strategic account plan per country/region to ensure delivery of budgeted sales, profit and reach
set objectives. You will be empowered to make decisions on behalf of company in alignment with Lancewoods’
strategy, guiding principles, and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

• Building and maintaining successful commercial business relationships with customers, to ensure
  profitability.
• Manage key agents, so that there is alignment between the Business Objectives and Customer Strategy.
• Manage and drive new business development.
• Assist with Market Research and Compliance: monitor market and dairy legislation.
• Export selling: setting up promotional grids and assisting agents with orders for upcoming promotions;
  administrative assistance on various trade agreements and pricing per retailer/agent/country; etc.
• Merchandising and Marketing: assist trade merchandising marketers on product information in various
  countries; compiling sales and price data in various countries; etc.
• Ensuring promotional activity is implemented as per the promotion grid, changes to be communicated on a
  weekly basis.
• Manage price comparisons and pricing per retailer.
• Manage and track returns based on set targets.
• Manage relationships and contacts in different contexts and cultures.

Qualifications and Experience:

• Relevant export or related degree
• 2-5 years’ relevant export experience within an FMCG environment
• 2 years’ relevant sales and customers services experience within an FMCG environment
• Computer Skills (Office, Excel, PowerPoint)

• Knowledge and a deep understanding of:
  • export processes of food products from processing facilities,
  • export requirements of dairy products, and
  • agent and customer management
• Excellent communication skills (both oral and written) and facilitation skills
• Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work with others to achieve objectives
• Excellent numerical, commercial and analytical skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
• Excellent presentation and report writing skills
• Ability to work within a team, but also be self-motivated

• Good planning, time management and decision-making skills
• Must have a customer-oriented personality with the ability to build relationships
• Valid driver’s license with own reliable transport
• Must be willing and able (no criminal record) to travel as required
