Group Remuneration and Benefits Manager – Libstar / Cape Town

Reporting to: Group People Executive

Location: Plattekloof, Cape Town

Purpose of the role:

We have a great opportunity for a Group Remuneration and Benefits Manager to join our dynamic organisation. The role will be responsible for the Group’s Total Rewards Strategy, implementing appealing, tailored compensation structures and benefit programs aligned to employee needs. The successful incumbent must utilize their labour legislation knowledge, combined with organizational development and employee engagement drivers to build a fair and attractive remuneration and benefits structure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Is a Centre of Excellence for the Group on matters relating to Remuneration and Benefits and needs to develop and grow the BU level People Teams on Remuneration and Benefits.
  • Position Libstar’s competitiveness by designing and implementing Remuneration Strategies aligned to Group standards and Company’s strategy.
  • Is the Company appointed representative for all employee benefits.
  • Researches and identifies Benefit programs for the business to support employees.
  • Manage and oversee the benefit administration policies and processes such as Retirement, Medical Aid, Long Term Illness, Death Investigations etc.
  • Oversee and manage compliance with all legal requirements relating to insurances.
  • Manages 3rd party reconciliations and statutory payments.
  • Manage and administrate the Short- and Long-Term Incentive payments and documentation.
  • Support the Group People Executive at REMCO on remuneration KPI’s.
  • Manage and Oversee payroll processing for accurate and on-time payment of employees and all 3rd party vendors aligned to contracts for the Central Office.
  • Audit Group Payrolls based on policies and Collective Agreements rules for adherence to payroll processing and benefit accruals for risk mitigation.
  • Manage accurate Risk response testing aligned to Financial Controlling Standards.
  • Advise and guide on timekeeping systems to enable accurate time and attendance reporting.
  • Auditing remuneration and benefits data for quality assurance.
  • Job Evaluation process management to moderate all current and new positions.
  • Develop and maintain relevant policies and guidelines for areas of responsibility.
  • Manage Labour Cost Budget and Forecast for all Companies.
  • Prepare final Director Emoluments for Financial Statements.
  • Provide relevant remuneration and benefits input for the Integrated Annual Report.
  • Analyse People-related data for strategic decision making and provides various reports to suggest and implement improvements.
  • Provide analytics for continued employee retention and positive employee experience.
  • Conduct pay equity analysis.
  • Identifies retention/turnover risk areas and implements strategies to mitigate risk.
  • Develop Power BI reports for the People Teams.
  • Review and prepare offers of employment for Central employees, process relocation – payments, and onboard Central employee’s benefits administration.
  • Employment Equity Group Level Reports.

Required Knowledge:

  • Knowledge of Statutory Legislation i.e. Income Tax Act, Pensions Fund Act, Medical Schemes Act etc.
  • Knowledge of retirement fund administration, recruitment, HR administration, Talent Management, Labour Relations, etc.
  • Knowledge of Job Evaluation Methodology, Grading Systems and organisational design.
  • Proficient in MS Office packages, Power BI and Sage 300 People.
  • Sound knowledge of financial terminology with a working understanding of financial concepts related to budgeting, cost analysis, and reward structures.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification required in BCom, Finance or equivalent.
  • Demonstrated senior of 5-8 Years with a proven track record of managing projects.
