Location: Montague Gardens, Cape Town
We are looking for an enthusiastic, detail-oriented individual to join the Production team at Amaro Foods in Artisanal Facility, Montague Gardens.
Purpose:
To manage the entire production process for a shift, ensuring that specifications are followed and GMP’s are adhered to at all times. To meet all internal specifications.
Key Performance Outputs:
- Ensure proper and accurate execution of the daily production plan
- Ensure optimum use of production resources, i.e. team members and equipment
- Proactively managing product yields; maintain waste within the requirement targets
- Maintain proper functioning of manufacturing equipment
- Co-ordinate and facilitate the daily meetings i.e. “Let’s Talk” at required level
- Manage the lunch rotation of staff on particular shift
- Supervise the team/s to ensure delivery of production targets
- Identify training needs within team, coaching and mentoring for improvement
- Ensuring all orders are produced in full and on time
- Ensuring the lines are producing at the required efficiency rate
- Conduct and record hourly short interval controls and implement corrective actions where necessary
- Ensure proper corrective disciplinary measures are applied consistently and fairly where applicable
- Maintain all documentation required for due diligence
- Notify Coordinates about equipment and production problems and any deviations
- Liaise with all internal departments to ensure optimal performance of the production function
- Support department head/manager with key initiatives relevant to the department
- Creating jobs in SYSPRO
- Printing of Job Cards from the TransLution system and ensuring that these are accurate
- Ensure that each job is debriefed with the team
- Ensure that the job completion is done timeously on the TransLution system.
- Comply with the necessary Occupational Health and Safety requirements
- Ensure compliance to all food safety regulations, allergen control, housekeeping and pest control
- Utilisation of the traceability function in TransLution’s Eazy Query to ensure that
- production quality is followed and fully traceable throughout the production lifecycle
- Participate in personal hygiene checks

Technical Skills and Experience:
- Tertiary degree/diploma in Food Science or equivalent
- Computer literate and proficient in MS Office
- A minimum of 3-5 years’ experience in food manufacturing
- A minimum of 3 years’ experience in supervising
