Reporting line: Financial Accountant
Location: George, Western Cape
Role Overview:
To ensure the accurate recording, reporting, and management of an organisation’s financial information. The role is crucial in maintaining financial integrity, compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing management with the necessary financial data to make informed decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare Financial Statements and Management Report: Generate accurate monthly, quarterly,
and annual financial reports, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow
statements in accordance with IFRS standards. - Accounts Receivable: Manage and process accounts receivable transactions, ensuring timely and
accurate payments and collections. - Reconciliation: Reconcile certain General Ledger control account.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts, providing
variance analysis and financial insights to management. - General Ledger Management: Maintain the general ledger by ensuring all transactions are
recorded in a timely and accurate manner. - Inventory: Analytical review of all inventories and ensure sufficient provision for obsolete write-off,
NRV and relevant sales costs are made. Monthly reconciliation performance on stock takes and
warehouses are correctly accounted for. - Audit Support: Prepare necessary documentation for internal and external audits and liaise with
auditors as needed. Managing the audit process. - Expense Tracking: Monitor and report on company expenses, identifying cost-saving
opportunities. - Compliance: Ensure that financial transactions and processes comply with company policies,
accounting standards, and regulatory requirements. - Ad Hoc Reporting: Provide financial data and analysis to support various business decisions and
projects as requested by management.
Qualifications and Experience:
- CA (SA) is a minimum requirement
- Proven experience as an Accountant or in a similar role will be advantageous
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QlikView & Syspro) and MS Office Suite, particularly
Excel. - Knowledge of Syspro will be advantageous.
- Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) or International Financial
Reporting Standards (IFRS). - Own vehicle and a valid driver’s license
