Purpose of the Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for an Administrative Officer to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced FMCG environment. The purpose of this role is to manage reception duties, provide efficient administrative support to the business and assist with payroll processing. The role will involve payroll administration and reporting using SAGE 300.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the reception area and serve as the first point of contact for visitors, clients and incoming calls
- Perform general administrative duties including filing, data capturing and record maintenance
- Coordinate meetings, schedules and office related administrative functions
- Gathering and verifying employee timesheets, hours worked, and bank information for payroll processing
- Assist with payroll processing, including calculating earnings, deductions and capturing payroll information on SAGE 300
- Ensuring adherence to all tax regulations and payroll information is processed accurately and within required deadlines
- Updating and maintaining payroll databases, including new hires and terminations
- Investigating payroll errors and answering employee questions regarding compensation
- Preparing periodic payroll reports for management or auditing purposes
- Assist with preparation of Financial Audits, SMETA Audits, B-BBEE Audits.
- Perform any additional duties as assigned by management

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in an administrative or office support role
- Payroll administration experience is essential
- Technical Proficiency: Experience with payroll software (e.g., SAGE) and MS Office (especially Excel)
- High accuracy in numerical data entry and calculations and attention to detail
- Ability to handle sensitive financial and personal information ethically
- Strong verbal and written skills for handling employee inquiries
- A high school diploma is required, relevant qualifications or experience in accounting will be advantageous
- Strong attention to detail and understanding of operational procedures
- Ability to analyse information and make sound decisions
Additional Information
You may occasionally be required to perform tasks outside your normal responsibilities, depending on the operational needs of the company.
