Reporting to: Finance Executive

Location: Montague Gardens, Cape Town

We are seeking a professional Chartered Accountant with advanced financial systems capability and strong data analytics expertise to join our dynamic, fast-paced FMCG environment. This role requires a highly competent individual who thrives in complex operational settings and can translate financial and operational data into meaningful business insights.

The successful candidate will support the Finance Executive by playing pivotal role in elevating audit readiness, enhancing IFRS application, strengthening system integrity, and improving performance reporting across the business.

This position also provides finance support to the cluster, including Rialto, Ambassador Foods and Cape Coastal Honey, across manufacturing, importing, warehousing and distribution operations The successful candidate will help drive enhanced internal controls, uplift reporting quality, deepen commercial insights, and optimise operational decision making at product, customer and category level.

Key Job Functions:

Audit Readiness and Technical Accounting

• Assist in preparing complete audit files, lead schedules and supporting documentation for all audit areas
• Resolve audit queries independently and ensure IFRS compliance across transactions
• Lead technical accounting research for IFRS topics including but not limited to revenue, leases IFRS 16, hedging, foreign currency and new commercial arrangements.
• Draft accounting papers and ensure alignment with Libstar group policies
• Strengthen balance sheet reconciliation quality and documentation

Month End Close and Financial Reporting

• Manage the month end process including consolidation, margin analysis, cost of sales validation and stock valuation
• Own technical month end schedules including FX revaluations, FEC roll forwards, lease journals, deferred tax and rebate recognition
• Support category profitability reporting, trade spend analysis and customer or channel performance
• Contribute to PF packs, board reporting and group submissions

Systems Management and Data Integrity

• Maintain and optimise Syspro ERP, TradeCloud, Translution and related tools
• Ensure GL accuracy, costing structures, inventory controls and workflow approvals are correct and consistent
• Lead system improvements, testing, user acceptance and alignment across merged entities
• Drive data reliability and reduce manual intervention through better configuration and controls

Analytics and Automation

• Design advanced Excel models for financial reporting and operational insight.
• Increase automation in month end and reporting to improve speed and accuracy
• Provide insight across products, customers and categories to drive commercial accountability

Budgeting, Forecasting and Scenario Planning

• Support the annual budget process and rolling forecasts with integrated system models
• Provide analysis on FX impacts, cost drivers, trade spend, standard costs and margin movements

Cross Functional Partnering

• Collaborate with operations, supply chain, procurement and commercial teams
• Review landed cost drivers, customs delays, freight charges and clearing agent fees
• Support new supplier or distribution models with financial mapping and technical guidance
• Analyse manufacturing variances, logistics costs and operational KPIs

Working Capital and Margin Management

• Support stock reviews, ageing, slow moving analysis, GRN accuracy and stock take variance resolution
• Contribute to debtor and creditor cycle insight
• Assist with pricing validation, cost build ups and margin governance

Governance, Controls and Risk Management

• Ensure compliance with IFRS, Libstar finance policies and internal audit requirements
• Strengthen internal controls for inventory, costing, trade spend and procurement
• Support risk assessments and update process documentation and finance procedures

People Development

• Provide training to finance and system users on IFRS application, system processes, reconciliation quality and analytical methods
• Mentor junior team members and help uplift the overall capability of the finance team

Knowledge and Experience Required:

• CA SA, essential
• One to three years post article experience in FMCG, manufacturing, distribution or audit of these sectors
• Strong IFRS knowledge including leases, revenue and foreign currency
• Proficiency in relevant software applications – Syspro ERP, TradeCloud, Translution and related tools
• Experience with financial systems such as Syspro or similar
• Advanced Excel and strong process improvement capability
• Experience preparing audit files and interacting with auditors
