Reporting to: Financial Manager
Location: Montague Gardens, Cape Town

Purpose of the role

Cape Foods is looking for a motivated and detail-oriented Finance Graduate to join our Finance team.
This is an excellent opportunity for a recent Finance or Accounting graduate to gain practical, hands-on experience across financial accounting, reconciliations, reporting, inventory, budgeting and operational finance within an FMCG/manufacturing environment.

Key performance areas include (including but not limited to):

• Assist with bookkeeping, reconciliations and month-end accounting activities.
• Assist with preparation of month-end audit files and supporting schedules.
• Capture AP invoices on Traild
• Customer and Supplier account maintenance on Syspro ERP
• Assist with foreign invoicing and dispatch documentation.
• Perform retailer, rebate, CHEP, pallet, crate and warehouse reconciliations.
• Assist with maintaining the Fixed Asset Register and physical asset verification.
• Assist with stock counts and inventory reconciliations.
• Prepare daily sales and stock reports and weekly sales reports.
• Assist with OEE reporting and time studies for overhead allocations.
• Assist with cash-flow reporting, budgets and forecasts.
• Investigate financial and operational variances.
• Support the Finance team with reporting, analysis and process improvements.
• Process and reconcile related party transactions.
• General and other duties may be assigned by senior management.

Required Qualifications and Experience:

• Relevant degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Financial Management or a related field.
• Recent graduate or final-year student completing their qualification.
• Microsoft Excel
• Previous work experience is advantageous but not essential.
• Exposure to Syspro, Traild, or another ERP/accounting system will be advantageous.
• FMCG or manufacturing exposure will be advantageous.
