Purpose of the Role:
An excellent opportunity has become available for a HR Manager to join the WCC Western Cape Region team. As a partner to the business, the HR Manager will develop, implement and drive an HR people strategy supportive of business objectives and the Company’s employee value proposition. Job Function / Responsibility:
- Development and execution of an HR strategy.
- Effective management of HR problems considering long-term and short-term employee requirements.
- Advise on department and organisational people structures.
- Lead, manage and develop a high-performing HR team reflective of the Company’s values.
- Ensure cross functional alignment with other departments from both an individual and team perspective.
- Management and coordination of training and development initiatives including implementation of learnerships, internships and skills programmes.
- Driving and execution of the recruitment and selection process from end to end including the facilitation of onboarding processes.
- Driving and execution of the performance management process including the development of job profiles and active performance appraisal support to Managers.
- Handling of all disciplinary and employee relations matters confidentially and in line with labour law requirements.
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with the workplace committee, shop stewards and unions. Set up and drive monthly, quarterly and annual meetings as required.
- Advise the business on wage negotiation approaches for each Rialto site and lead the overall negotiation process. Protect the business as much as possible from any risk of industrial action.
- Effective representation of the Company at the CCMA including both conciliation and arbitration as required.
- Facilitation of employment equity committee and skills development meetings in accordance with the employment equity plan.
- Creation, implementation and maintaining of HR management systems, policies and processes.
- Drive equity and ethical compliance across the business in line with the Company’s Ethics Policy.
- Building a positive, motivated and development orientated Company culture representative of the Company’s values.
- Completion of legislative and internal HR reporting (including but not limited to equity, BBBEE, WRSETA, STATS SA, Libstar reporting). Analyze report outcomes and provide recommendations accordingly.
- Continuously drive and develop the People Strategy in accordance with the Company’s strategic objectives.
- Providing quality HR advice and support to the business.

values.
Qualification and Skills Required:
- HR or related Degree
- 4-7 years of HR management experience
- 8+ years of generalist HR experience
- Experience with CCMA representation
- Knowledge and application of labour legislation, particularly the BCEA, LRA and SDA
- Experience working within an FMCG or wholesale and retail environment will be preferable
- Excellent understanding and implementation of best practice policies, processes and procedures
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, SAGE
