Reporting to: HR Executive (Lancewood)
Location: Cape Town

Purpose of the role:

The purpose of the role is to provide HR support and advice to the relevant stakeholders (employees & management) in accordance with the applicable business objectives, specifications, procedures, policies and statutory requirements or standards.

Key job functions

  • Management of the recruitment and selection process
  • Facilitation of the on-boarding and induction process including updating HR records with employee details
  • Ensure company adherence to HR policies and processes
  • Ensuring compliance with applicable legislation
  • Run disciplinary hearings and facilitate warning allocations (function as the HR representative in enquiries as needed)
  • Support disciplinary matters, performance management processes and employee grievance meetings
  • Drive and support the performance management process
  • Update and maintain job profiles
  • Implementation and monitoring of learnership, internship and skills programmes
  • Coordination and scheduling of training interventions in accordance with the training plan and business requirements
  • Attend and support employment equity and training committee meetings
  • Support the workplace committee and/or union meetings
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with the workplace committee and/or union
  • Monitoring effective implementation of the EE and BBBEE plans
  • HR reporting including training (in line with SETA requirements), Employment Equity, BBBEE and ad hoc HR reporting as needed
  • Maintain HR records and databases, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality of employee information
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR department, including preparing reports, managing correspondence, and managing HR documentation
  • Ensure that the payroll department is provided with necessary employee information
  • Provide payroll support to managers as required
  • Drive and assist with initiatives to promote a healthy company culture supportive of business values

Key Performance Areas:

Implementation, monitoring and reporting of the key HR processes
Partnering with the business to provide effective HR advice and support to employeesAccurate application and compliance of HR processes to relevant statutory and
legislative requirements

Knowledge and Experience Required:

  • HR or relevant Diploma or Degree
  • 3+ years of generalist HR experience
  • Knowledge and application of labour legislation, particularly the BCEA, LRA and SDA
  • Experience working within a FMCG or wholesale and retail environment will be preferable
  • Excellent understanding of HR processes

  • Valid driver’s license
