Purpose of the Role

An exciting opportunity has become available for a Production Manager to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced FMCG environment. The purpose of this role is to manage, oversee and coordinate production operations, ensuring efficient use of resources, adherence to quality and food safety standards, and effective management of staff and production processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Execute Production as per production plan.
• Controlling the usage of packaging and ingredients and/or waste
• Maintain Service Levels
• Ensure optimal performance of production lines.
• Analyze the production performance of the previous shift and take action where needed.
• Ensure hygiene inspections are done and standards are met.
• Ensure maintenance of equipment is reported and actioned.
• Maintain high performance and teamwork between all staff to ensure optimal benefit to the company.
• Manage time, attendance, and overtime.
• Cleaning & Organizing of the workplace.
• Maintaining Quality and Safety Systems
• Documentation Control
• Ensuring Product Conforms to Quality Standards
• Implementing and Maintaining SOPs and Work Instructions

Adhoc tasks that must be performed:

• Ensure and maintain Food Safety Regulations including CCP’s within these areas.

Competencies

• Matric (Grade 12) Certificate
• Certificate / Diploma in Production
• Good communication skills – communicate (verbal and written) with people on a professional level.
• Mathematical skills – ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide in all units of measures using whole numbers and decimals.
• Attention to detail and quality – Understanding all procedures associated with this position and ask questions when needed.
• Making decisions and solving problems – Analyzing information and evaluating results to choose the best solution.
• Physical ability – required to stand, walk, sit crouch and kneel. Lift or move up to 25kg. Climb ladder or work on a platform.
• Language skills – ability to read and write simple correspondence.
• Technical ability and knowledge to set, operate and maintain production equipment.

Additional Information

You may occasionally be required to perform tasks outside your normal responsibilities, depending on operational requirements.
