Regional Sales Manager (Independent Wholesale Western Cape & Eastern Cape) – Lancewood / Cape Town

Reporting line: National Channel Manager Wholesale Channel
Location: Cape Town, Western Cape

Role Overview:

The role is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the strategic account plan at a National and
Regional level to ensure delivery of budgeted sales, profit and set objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Building and maintaining successful commercial business relationships with customers, to ensure
    profitability.
  • Managing Regional accounts, ensuring alignment between the Business Objectives and Customer strategy.
  • Building and maintaining successful commercial business relationships with customers.
  • Formulating customer strategy and delivering commercial plans.
  • Providing and updating sales forecasts in line with forecasting requirements.
  • Negotiating ad spend, pricing, promotions, ranging and new product listings.
  • Annually develop a comprehensive account plan to deliver on set account & channel KPI’s.
  • Analyse, compile and review performance of account plan incorporating competitor, category & shopper
    dynamics to deliver maximum sales and profit.
  • Drive category, space, and discounts management in line with the channel & account plan.
  • Implement the agreed pricing policies.
  • Negotiate, control, and execute the implementation of the annual account promotional grid & budgeted
    spend ensuring alignment to the company’s annual marketing plan.
  • Complete pre & post evaluation of Return on Investment of all promotions to ensure maximum commercial
    effectiveness.
  • Develop the appropriate cross functional contact strategy (includes identifying key contacts & establishing
    frequency of contact) with assigned customers.
  • Working closely with customer DCs, including order management, replenishment, demand planning and
    other operational activities.
  • Manage the relevant Sales and Merchandising companies – Monthly meetings with sales agents:
    communication of regional and national promotions; store visits; review sales performance; sales targets
    and objectives as well as execution.
  • Training of field sales force
  • Working across cross functional teams within the business to achieve set objectives.

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification will be advantageous.
  • Computer literacy, excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office programs (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, and
    PowerPoint).
  • Minimum of 5 years relevant experience within Formal and Informal Independent Wholesale Channel.
  • Minimum of 5 years demonstrated experience within a similar role.
