Purpose of the Role
An exciting opportunity has become available for a Production Supervisor to join our dynamic team in a fast-paced FMCG environment. The purpose of this role is to oversee and coordinate production operations, ensuring efficient use of resources, adherence to quality and food safety standards, and effective management of staff and production processes.
Key Responsibilities
- Staff Control: Ensure daily duties are clearly defined, rotate staff for multitasking, monitor timekeeping, and ensure tasks are completed effectively.
- Equipment Monitoring and Maintenance: Maintain equipment according to work instructions, report faulty measuring devices, and manage issuing of equipment to staff.
- Production Monitoring and Control: Ensure processing parameters meet specifications, report non-conformances, enforce SOPs, and maximize production efficiency.
- Hygiene Monitoring: Ensure cleaning standards are maintained, and cleaning validation documentation is issued and completed correctly.
- Storage Practices: Monitor storage practices including allergen control and address deviations from standards.
- Pre-Batch Control: Conduct random inspections of raw materials, weights, and traceability information
- Allergen Management: Control allergen spillages and ensure proper handling, marking, and storage of allergen-related equipment.
- Meetings: Lead daily invocoms, communicate key information to staff, and attend relevant operational meetings.
- Factory Trials: Participate in factory trials and attend pre- and post-trial meetings.
- Project Work: Support and execute ad hoc projects assigned by the Production Manager.
- Stock Take: Assist with stock-taking activities as required.
- Documentation: Ensure accurate and timely completion of all production-related documentation.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience
- Grade 12 qualification
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Basic mathematical skills (add, subtract, multiply, divide)
- Strong attention to detail and quality awareness
- Ability to analyse information and solve problems
- Physical capability to stand, walk, crouch, kneel, lift up to 25kg and work at heights if required
- Ability to understand and interpret written and spoken instructions
