World Food Day is celebrated worldwide on 16 October each year, and commemorates the date of the founding of the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization in 1945.
This important day marks global strides to address food shortages and hunger, to ensure a sustainable world where every person has regular access to enough nutritious food. Libstar, a leading listed food group that exists to enrich people’s daily lives, believes in the power of collective action to address critical need. During the month of October, the group worked with numerous NGOs in the communities in which it operates, to bring some relief to those less fortunate.
“As a South African producer and distributor of household staples, Libstar is acutely aware of the food and nutritional challenges facing many people in our country. Libstar’s purpose is to enrich people’s daily lives and we are therefore passionate about making a difference within our local communities through our group-wide community upliftment programmes and initiatives,” says Robyn Manuel, Libstar HR Manager.
